Tom Beddard likes to play with home-brew programmes that can generate interesting pictures. Whenever possible the experiments are interactive and have the source-code available for download.
He is an ex-physicist who likes to run, bike and snowboard and aside from graphical-geekery he works as the technical director of the Scottish based digital branding agency, tictoc family, building Ruby on Rails based web applications.

Slashrun

Ariel Malka launched a new branch of the research at chronotext, with a collective focus.

The innovation resides in the ability to control the software experiments in a simple syntax based on scripting or tags.
The first “slashrun” is called “the war of the words”:
http://slashrun.org/War and it will let you… well, surprise :)

Beyond pyrotechnics, the next slashruns will be more “open”, in a way that they will provide some basic building blocks, offering a wide spectrum of exploration.

So Get mobilised and join the war :)

The surfaceLib gives you an easy way to create different 3d surfaces in processing.  There is a bunch of surfaces implemented but you can also write your own class which extends the basic surface class.

TypeDrawing is an excellent online Dynamic typography application created using Macromedia Flash. The beauty of this application can only be experienced if you try it yourself.

Very innovative and creative work.

Glen Murphy makes random things that some call software and some call art. BodyTag is Glen’s exhibition of his generative graphic experiments. He works with variety of technologies. Most of his generative graphics are done using combinations of DHTML, Processing, JAVA and C++.

One of the piece I liked most is EUROPA. The interesting thing about this piece is that its very different from all the other generative graphics we have been seeing for some time. I love the tiny characters on screen and especially their behaviour.

Excellent collection of Tim Borgman’s experiments with 3D graphics using Realsoft 3D software.

He is searching for how abstract / creative and intuitive he can be with computers.

This series started as a step more back to the roots, using only curves to describe shapes, like drawing / painting in space. . Playing around with lights and shaders lead to the wire look which can be mostly seen in the images at the moment.
